Navigating My Military Social Network
On the very top of this page is your Dashboard menu bar. You only see it when you are logged in.
This is where you go to set up your account, profile, preferences, and view new messages and
notifications.
- Activity — find out what your friends and groups are doing
- Profile — where you edit your profile
- Messages — inbox, sent messages, compose, and notices
- Friends — your friends and your friend requests
- Groups — groups you joined and group invites
- Settings — your general account settings
- Logout — always use when you leave.
In your member bar your Activity menu item drops down a list of six choices. Selecting any one
of them filters out all other activity and displays only what you want to see.
- Personal — your activity
- Friends — your friends
- Following — activity of those you follow
- Groups — groups you joined
- Favorites — activities you marked favorite
- @yourname Mentions — who is mentioning you and where
Adding @username in a post sends notification to the user of that post.
Clicking the Like button allows you to follow someone without becoming friends.
Take some time to go through all the menu items. If you haven’t filled out all of your profile go
do that before you get started in the community area.
Community Menu Bar
To access community areas where you can meet new friends, see what people are doing,
browse groups, and read the forums, choose from the tabbed menu bar in the page header.
- Activity — all activity with options for filtering
- Members — list of all members on the site.
- Groups — list of all groups with options to join, leave, and receive notification. Join a group before you post.
- Forums — list of all Group forums. You must be a member of the forum’s group before you can post

Get Started
Join a Group. On the tabbed menu bar click the Groups tab. Join as many as you want. Group activity shows
in your activity feed under My Account/Activity/Groups in the top menu bar. Next time you log in check
your activity feed to get the latest updates.
Want to start a new group? Use the from below to provide the name and description of the group you want to create.
A site administrator will review your new group request and contact you with a decision.
